Full firmware recovery plan

Acquisition

Request from Philips/TPVision:

  1. full, not merely incremental, USB firmware for 43PUS7394/12 and TPM191E_R;
  2. current or explicitly upgrade/downgrade-compatible release;
  3. SHA-256 and signed publication/release note;
  4. model-specific cold-boot/emergency installation instructions;
  5. clarification whether user settings/data are preserved;
  6. boot-slot recovery and failure/power-loss behavior.

Offline validation before use

  • hash/provenance and exact filename;
  • ZIP/UPG structure, upg.xml product ID and source/target versions;
  • payload partition list and properties;
  • no modification, repacking or third-party wrapper;
  • sufficient, stable power and known expected duration.

Execution gate

A full firmware action writes many boot-critical partitions and may erase data. It requires a new explicit authorization and a final preflight. Do not start it merely because Android UI is slow; first distinguish app-update rollback from a true boot/system-image failure.

Post-recovery verification

Check build/fingerprint, active slot, locked/green AVB, hashes, /data capacity, TV setup, tuner/channels, Guide, favorites, recordings/reminders, network, HDMI/CEC, sound, standby/wake and whether the original bug is present.
