Phase 5 summary
Repair: VALIDATED LIVE (software), visual UI validation pending. A
schema-identical compact DB preserved 358 channel mirror and 203 mapping rows,
removed 3,071,250 expired schedule rows and recovered 1,701,400 KiB according
to df. /data changed from 73% to 39% used.
After real TV/Guide activity the healthy DB grew to 806,912 bytes with 59 Now, 48 Next and 1,041 Schedule rows spanning 2026-08-25 19:00 through 2026-09-01 02:50 local time. Current/future EPG reacquisition is proven.
Confirmed functional vendor bugs: ineffective EPG stale cleanup, pathological GEL WorkManager history, USB free-size zero. The Philips warning threshold is a design issue; the GEL command path is a separate confidential security report.
Storage conclusion: adopted USB is valid private ext4 and primary emulated
storage, but it does not enlarge /data; no package is currently installed on
it. Keep /data internal. Prefer leak fixes and, only in a future patched
firmware, selective private-volume placement with an internal fallback.
Root was not required for the repair. Root/OEM signing/unlock is required only for APK/JAR/system/SELinux/init/AVB changes or mount hacks.
